George F. Young’s civil engineering team is honored to have contributed to the transformation of Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota, Florida. Since 1970, the 123-acre Twin Lakes Park has been a cornerstone of the Sarasota community. The recent renovation features a 12,635-square-foot Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Administration Building and a versatile, 5,649-square-foot Multi-Purpose Community Building with two spacious meeting rooms for local events. The project also introduced new pickleball courts, fencing, lighting, and modern shade structures to enhance visitors’ experience.

Our civil engineering team provided site design for six ADA-accessible pickleball courts, new sidewalks, and the regrading and resizing required for refurbishing the existing tennis courts, along with upgraded lighting. We collaborated closely with Jon F. Swift, Inc., who led the project’s construction.

Juan Carlos Cintron, PE, represented our team at the park’s recent ribbon-cutting ceremony. Distinguished guests included Interim Director of Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Shawn Yeager, Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners Chair Ron Cutsinger, and Commissioner Dr. Joe Neunder.

With these enhancements, Twin Lakes Park is set to become a premier destination for racquet and paddle sports in Sarasota County.
