George F. Young delivered comprehensive services for the City of Venice Water Booster Pump Station, including civil engineering design, construction plan preparation, surveying, SUE, ecology, landscape and irrigation design, and both City and SWFWMD permitting. Our team also managed construction administration and engineering certification. Land Resource Strategies, LLC, our subconsultant, secured rezone, special exception, and site development plan approvals.

The scope included the development of approximately 11 acres within the City of Venice’s 40-acre property. Key components included a new Water Booster Pump Station building, a solar field, parking, access drives, grading, and stormwater management. Additionally, our survey, SUE, and ecology services extended to the off-site incoming and outgoing water distribution main corridors designed by Black & Veatch.

During project design, Sarasota County Stormwater and the City of Venice worked closely together on the adjacent Dona Bay Water Reclamation Phase 2 project. This partnership required additional coordination of stormwater design and SWFWMD Environmental Resource permitting to ensure proper allocation between both projects. GFY proactively managed this expanded scope to maintain project momentum. Engineering certifications of completion were submitted to the permitting agencies.

The City of Venice Utilities Department recently activated the new Water Booster Pump Station near Gene Green Road in Northeast Venice, FL. This upgrade is a key part of the city’s long-term strategy to enhance water service reliability and meet the community’s growing demands. The new booster station has already stabilized water pressure throughout the northern part of the city, and many customers will experience a noticeable increase in pressure. Additionally, the station enhances fire protection by increasing the flow capacity of fire hydrants during emergencies.

Mark Adler, PE, from our Lakewood Ranch civil engineering team, represented George F. Young at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 30, 2026. Distinguished guests included City of Venice Mayor Nick Pachota, City Manager James Clinch, Utilities Director Javier Vargas, and Assistant City Manager Roger Omenhiser.
