Project Details
GFY provided professional civil engineering and survey services for the 400 Central Avenue apartments development. The project consists of a full-block development in downtown St. Petersburg between 4th St S – 5th St S & Central Avenue & 1st Avenue S with a 20’ city alley located west to east on the middle of the site. The GFY team completed a boundary, topographic, tree, visible utility location, and subsurface utility location survey of the subject property. A sanitary sewer main and other utilities were routed through the city’s alley. Easements were vacated, and utilities were relocated throughout the property.
For the city sanitary sewer main, GFY evaluated and coordinated with the city of St. Petersburg to determine the appropriate route of relocation. Furthermore, developed construction plans, completed permitting with FDEP, and provided construction services through the project’s installation. The sanitary sewer main was plugged at the right of way west to the alley and re-routed south of 5th St S towards 1st Avenue S.
For the site, the project included a garage building, a residential tower and ground-floor retail around the block. Engineering design services were provided for full construction plans, including utilities, stormwater, ADA access, demolition, and grading. Permitting included FDOT, SWFWMD, FDEP, and Site Permitting with City of St. Petersburg. FDOT was required per the project’s road frontage with 4th St S (FDOT Right of Way).
GFY provided construction phase services for the project and assisted the project contractor in acquiring right-of-way permits with the City of St. Petersburg by preparing a phased MOT plan for the sanitary relocation and for the construction of the tower. GFY coordinated with FDOT and the City of St. Petersburg and produced plans in conformance with FDOT standards in order to receive approval.
