George F. Young’s survey team was proud to support the Fair Oaks Community Center project in Tampa, FL, alongside Skanska. Under the leadership of Trevor Hatch, PSM, our crews conducted comprehensive tree, topographic, and boundary surveys of the site. These surveys captured elevations on an approximate 50-foot grid and at all significant breaks, as well as above-ground visible improvements, utilities, storm and sewer manholes and inverts, and all trees 4” in diameter or larger. The team also surveyed the full rights-of-way along the property frontage and overlaid city atlas maps provided by the consultant. Additionally, services included subsurface utility designation and location to ensure a complete understanding of the site.
At 33,055 square feet, the community center stands as one of the largest projects undertaken by Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department. The facility features dedicated spaces for seniors, multipurpose rooms, a teaching kitchen, and an indoor basketball court. Adjacent to the center, the East Tampa Recreation Complex spans over 10 acres and offers a basketball court, pickleball courts, a multipurpose sports field, a splash pad, and a playground.
