GFY has been selected by PBSJ to provide 27 Sketches and Legal descriptions for utility easements, parcel stakeout for appraiser field review, and Boundary Surveys for 2 parcels to be acquired by the City of Sarasota for stormwater improvements.

The Palm Beach Gardens Municipal Complex Emergency Operations and Communications Center is under construction.  GFY provided civil engineering services in the development of the Design Criteria Package that was used for selection of the Design/Build team.

Broward County School Board

George F. Young, Inc. working as a subconsultant to Harvard and Jolly Architects is providing Civil Engineering services for a new Media Center at the Seagull School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Palm Beach County/FDOT
The widening and resurfacing or Alternate A1A/SR811 in Jupiter is nearing completion.  GFY provided design, permit, and construction assistance for this 1.5 mile section of roadway.

Ovation Best High-Rise Condominium Community Award Reciepient

Ovation

Ovation, developed by JMC, touts luxury and lifestyle and received the Multifamily Pillars of the Industry "Best High-Rise Condominium Community" award from the National Association of Homebuilders in 2011. GFy supported the project with Civil Engineering, Planning, Site Development, Permitting, and Construction services

New Downtown Pier Competition

The selection jury has narrowed the design competitors down to 3 firms and GFY is on the West 8 team, which according to the St. Petersburg Times, had the most jury support. GFY will play a major role on the team, providing Civil Engineering, Subsurface Utility Engineering, Utility Coordination, and Surveying and Mapping services for the project, as well as significant historic input.

Airport TowerNew Airport Tower - The new $3.1M, four floor Air Traffic Control Tower at Albert Whitted Airport is now open. The tower features the latest in aviation equipment and instrumentation and panoramic views from an octagonal observation room. The Tower is capable of withstanding winds up to 130 mph and its shaft includes 2,500 SF of office space, break and training rooms, an equipment area, and elevator. It was funded with $2.1M from the FAA and U.S. Representative C.W. "Bill" Young and $1M in federal stimulus dollars. GFY supported this project with Surveying and Mapping Services.

Project of Distinction Award Winner

Schenkel Shultz Architecture won the Education Design Showcase Project of Distinction Award for Weeki Wachee High School. GFY served on the project team providing Civil Engineering services

City of St. Pete Beach

George F. Young, Inc. recently completed the Don Cesar Roadway drainage and pedestrian safety improvements for St. Petersburg Beach along Pass-a-Grille Way. The project was completed under budget and ahead of schedule and resulted in very satisfied residents. The new Pedestrian Special Emphasis Flashing Beacons had over 520 hits a day the week after the project was completed and the residents could not remember when the the last time the streets didn't stay flooded after a storm event.

GFY has been selected by St Petersburg College for Master Planning services on the Architect Teams of Canerday, Belfsky + Arroyo Architects, Inc for the Midtown, Downtown Center, Palladium, St Petersburg/Gibbs and Bay Pines Campuses; HKS Architects, Inc for the Seminole, Caruth Health Education, and Veterinary Tech Center campuses; and EMO Architects, Inc. for Tarpon Springs, Epicenter, Allstate Center, and Fire Training Campuses.

FishHawk Ranch

GFY has been retained to oversee and inspect construction of four parks within FishHawk Ranch in Tampa, Florida.

Pulte Homes

Pulte Homes has retained GFY to provide Landscape Architecture on three communities: Stonebrier, South Shore Falls and Dell Webb Orlando.

Pollack & Partners

GFY is working with Pollack & Partners on apartment site due diligence, surveying and Landscape Architecture services.

Stewart Enterprises, Inc,

Through GFY’s Master Contract with Stewart Enterprises, Inc, we are providing surveying, civil engineering, architecture and landscape architecture services for several cemetery expansions throughout the State of Florida. Two recent projects include Memorial Park Cemetery in St Pete and Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando.  

Magnolia Park

GFY Tampa has been retained by Pulte Homes to assist with signage monumentation and associated variance for Magnolia Park subdivision in Tampa, Florida. The subdivision is a master planned community in south Tampa. Pulte Homes has also retained GFY to provide master Landscape Architecture services for the overall Master Planned Community.

Progress Energy

The Design/Build team of GFY and Duke Realty has been selected for the design and construction of a 60,000 SF office warehouse facility at the Crystal River Power Plant for Progress Energy.

 Florida Brownfields Association

Al Belluccia, PE, Vice President of Engineering was a keynote speaker at the 13th Annual Florida Brownfields Conference. The topic of Al's presentation was "Florida's Proposed Stormwater Rule, The Good, The Bad, and the Bizarre.
